From last year they were Sleeping Beeuties 2018 to

This year 2019  again these little kind and sweet bees have caught me unaware and when I opened

the sleeping box there were a few anxious looking faces!  So up went the boxes sharpish

and they were put on top to feel the fresh air and off they flew ~ they'll be back always

to the same spot they first remember.

These are the boxes facing South in the hot sun.

Wildlife have no respect for photographers!

@Anonymous this will make you laugh!

At about 2am on Saturday morning (Dec 7th) a warm moon lit night. Two owls were so close that I could hear their hooting and playing around probably picking up those little mice we were talking about recently. Such a lovely wake up call! They are often here but haven't heard them for a while and was worried for them! So happy now. 🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉

That's lovely @TallTrees

About as lovely as my cat Marty waking me up at 4am insisting on going out on the prowl LOL

Seriously along the canal, sometimes there are owls too-witting and too-wooing - it's nice to hear

Tell me, does the male do the too-witting and the female the too-wooing ?

The towpath where there are 2 flocks of hedgesparrows is out of action at present due to maintenance - am saving up stuff to feed them up when the tarmaccing has been done and is open again

Just caught up with your nature descriptions above @Anonymous  and @TallTrees . I got some lovely mental images as well of birds playing in the pool and owls sitting in a tree. slight_smile I also like owls. They always look so interested and very cute.

Not sure if these owls are tawny owls, but I like this facial expression they often have when I look at owl photos!
