Have you had the chance to try one out Fatboy?
I haven't Toby.
But I prefer the standard 9.7 inch screen iPad. But I think it's a good move for Apple to bring a lower priced and smaller screen iPad, because there are a lot of people that either dont want such a large screened device or can afford the larger screened iPad.
Admittedly the iPad mini isn't as cheap as similar sized Android tablets, but the difference now is a lot less than what it was before the release of the iPad mini. I can imagine that it will put a dent in the Android tablet sales.

Just thought you guys might find this review useful, especially if you are going to purchase one.
it could be summed up like this "refer to ipad 3 review and add a lightning connector"
