At home I have the luxury of virgin 200mb vivid line, at work they have a 10mb ish bt connection, my mobile gives 30mb+.
Guess when my data gets turned on...

Sorry but it's 2015 and there's no excuse for mobile tech having faster connections than hardwired lines into buildings.
BT have failed to keep up with the rest of the world as a nations provider of broadband services, some places in USA can get eye watering 1gb connections and there's BT with "super fast" 35/70mb infinity fibre...

There are several places in London where you can get 1GB from a provider called Hyperoptic. @viridis do you actually get 200MB from Virgin? When I was with them I was supposed to get 152MB but never got better than 70 or 80.

I was on 150mb package last year @Bambino and likewise I never got above 100, so I downgraded to 100mb as it was wasted money, the offer was stupidly good (about 4.50 on top of my current package) for tv upgrade to xl and the 200mb line, the actual speed is constantly just above 200 @ around 205mb.
Ping speed is faster too 15-17 whereas it was 25-30 before, (that could be coincidence tho)

I have virgin and it's advertised at up to 150 but I actually get 95. I have received an email to say I have now been supercharged so when I get back to the UK maybe I'm in for a nice surprise......

Maybe they've improved things with this Vivid connection. I can't get Virgin where I've moved to, so I've had to go back to BT and Sky. My BT broadband is okay. I actually get 37MB download on my phone and I pay for 38.

I joined Virgin Media after the closure of O2 broadband, currently I am on 50Mb broadband which I get all the time and I have the option of activating a free upgrade now to increase it to 70Mb but I don't need the extra 20Mb, so 50Mb is where I am keeping it at. The price is right too at £19.50 a month and due to various things going on with situation with them I haven't had to pay them any bills to them for months, my next bill is in Feb 2016.

And happily I just rejoined O2 pay monthly, getting signed up again was a nightmare, but the service is well worth it.
