I read this today.....Had no idea this was in the pipeline?

Google has made its Android Wear operating system compatible with Apple's iOS mobile platform.

Clever marketing ploy I think as it could pose a challenge to the Apple Watch... as it is much cheaper!

I like it purely because it looks like a watch....:smileywink:

It had to come eventually. Even Apple are making android compatible watches apparently so at least it gives you a wider choice of options now but ultimately it comes down to price and personal preference.

I agree @jonsie. It does suggest the watch shown (LG Urban) has restricted features...I am sure though it will appeal to many just because it actually looks like a watch...

That should reduce the price of the iWatch by a considerable amount slight_smile

i quite like this idea as it will just give consumers more choice at a less cost solution should they want to have the fad of a smart watch that needs charging twice a day!!! for me i will still with my Kenettic watch that needs no battery or charging lol

For instance.
Sony sw2 I got 2-3 days between charges
Sony smartband talk 2 days
Samsung gear 2 1.5-2 days
Samsung Gear S 1 day (with mobile network on) 2 days (mobile network auto)

I don't believe they are a fad, they are progression of technology being even more portable. I have enjoyed using all my smart watches, and use them all the time when not at work (I still use a band at work for notifications as it's loud and I can't hear a ringer.)

and dare I post a tongue because I know you're a good sport

I'd wear one of those watches with a round dial which actually looks like a watch, don't particularly like digital display on a watch ..... just personal preference
