.....but not by drone
was referrring to the royal mail note, but true enough...
and at the other end of the scale we have had stuff left "hidden" under our front door mat - it was a box about a foot long by half a foot square - and several instances of stuff just thrown over a garden gate. Without a note saying it was there! Only found it when I went to use the gate to put the bins out the next day...

I think it's area dependent @gmarkj. I certainly never got a message or email from the ones I mentioned above.
DPD was certainly the best for me......oh and Amazon.
In fact when I was in Spain I had an email from Amazon about a delivery made through my letterbox in the UK When I contacted my husband (at home) he had no idea it had arrived as he hadn't been to the front door...

A classic was a dress delivered by UK Mail and left in the dustbin. No note, no card and only found the next day when throwing the rubbish away. God save us from delivery companies. If drones can improve on that sort of customer experience then the sooner the better. Not sure they will ever get a licence in Thailand though, they need a few brown envelopes or the army will surely shoot the drones and anything they are carrying straight into the deep blue sea. So how will the insurance premiums work.....?

Haha. A well known fact in our house that since his retirement the other half can happily sleep till 2pm. If it wasn't for my lad being back here temporarily my cats would starve when I go to Spain...
