There are two White Room Quizzes each week - one on Monday and one on Wednesday.
Mon 04 August 2024 is the White Room Quiz 6th Anniversay !!!
To mark the occasion, there will be a special WRQ.
Mon 04 August 2024 - WRQ 6th Anniversary Quiz of 8 "six"/"sixth" - related questions, with one question
on each of eight categories [I won`t spoil the surprise by saying which categories].
I hope our regular quizzers

O2 Community Managers of the past inc -
@Marjo @EmilieT @Martin-O2 @LukasB @TheresaV @RafaC @Breanna @Dave-O2
[ if any CM or O2 admin or member of the Community know how to contact former CMs could you please let them know the WRQ 6th Anniversary Quiz is taking place and ask them to join in as they did for WRQ 4th anniversary ? ]
and any member, who has taken part in the past or has never taken part, and any new members will join in with this special edition of the White Room Quiz.
It has been, and is, an honour and a privilege to run the White Room Quiz. I never expected the White Room Quiz to reach its 6th Anniversary.
Over the six years, countless numbers of members of the O2 Community have taken part; quizzers have tackled around 5000 questions; and each WRQ has, and continues to, attract over 100 views.
To each and every one of you who has taken part in a WRQ quiz, my grateful thanks. It is your quiz, and as long as you want it, it will continue...

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE WHITE ROOM QUIZ
The White Room Quiz was "born" on 01 August 2019 when it was known as the White Room Thursday Quiz.
The name "The White Room [Thursday] Quiz" was chosen as an alternative to the infamous Black Chair of BBC TV`s Mastermind, which was daunting, whilst the White Room Quiz is intended as fun and an escape from the everyday pressures.
The White Room Quiz underwent various changes during its first twelve months - most notable the introduction of those taking part pming their answers being to me - Mi-Amigo as the questionmaster.
White Room Quizzers have, on occasions, done better than some of Britain`s best TV quiz champions
- some correctly answered a question which Paul Sinha, ranked No 17 in the World Quiz Championship, got wrong on ITV`s The Chase;
-some correctly answered a question which one of the country`s top quiz teams got wrong on Ch 4`s The Hardest Question;
- some correctly answered a question which Kevin, Mastermind Champion and Egghead got wrong on BBC TV`s Eggheads;
- some correctly answered questions which Chasers on ITV` The Chase got wrong;
- some correctly answered questions which two Mastermind Champions got wrong;
plus, some correctly answered the question which Judith Keppell correctly answered to become the first person to win £1million on ITV`s Who Wants To Be A Miilionaire.
This celebration of the White Room Quiz cannot go without a special mention of @Cleoriff who twice stepped in as WRQ Quizmaster, so I could take part. I should add I didn`t do that well with my answers
.
And thanks to @Breanna who gave a wonderful review of White Room Quiz [for 4th Anniversary] which you can read here
Thank you everyone, past and present quizzers, who have taken part with WRQ.
It is your quiz, I`m just the QuizMaster, and as long as people want it, the White Room Quiz will continue.

I for one want to thank you @Mi-Amigo for all the work you put in to the WRQ. I've never known you to repeat a question which would be so easy to do,
Yes, I did step in twice to do the quiz and though I enjoyed sorting out the questions, I realised how difficult it was. 😂
I really look forward to Mondays and Wednesday's, knowing we have a new quiz to look forward to.
I would like to see a few more Diamond Quizzes, although that would be more work for you.
Well done to you Quizmaster. Thanks for all your hard work every week. ❤️

Thank you @Cleoriff for your kind words and comments.
Although it would be difficult for me to arrange for more Diamond WRQ - with 12 questions, I have taken your suggestion on board and can announce that on
Wed 06 Aug 2025 - WRQ will be 10 questions - with Gold Thinker for 10 correct answers .

Thank you @jonsie for your kind words and comments.
Apologies for omitting the first WRQ to include gif in post notifying pm sent.
As far as I can make out - after a brief search on Off Topic archives - the first to inc a gif was on
WRQ 29 April 2020 - by @jonsie
Thank you for starting something which has become a regular feature of WRQ and adds to the fun.

Well done, @Mi-Amigo! 🎉
I remember the times @Cleoriff stood in for you well - but had no idea @jonsie was the first to add a gif teaser to his answer notice!
The GIFs make for a fun game, even if finding a relevant one can take a few mins, as can the battle to add it to a post now and then - .webp seems to be more prevalent these days, and the Forum barfs on those 😖

Thank you @TallTrees for your kind comments.
I hope you can join in with the WRQ 6th Anniversary quiz on Mon.
Thank you @pgn for your kind comments.
It wasn`t until @jonsie mentioned it and I checked that I found out how long gifs have been part of WRQ.
Of course gifs are now a regular part of WRQ and I look forward to seeing what quizzers come up with.
