Arm (the cpu inside nearly 99% of phones) is possibly going to be snapped up by Japanese giant softbank.

Just one snippet from our new pm...

"Prime Minister Theresa May said the deal between Softbank and ARM Holdings showed the UK economy could be successful after the country voted to leave the European Union.
A spokeswoman for the prime minister said Mrs May believed the deal was in the country's national interest - a gauge that she will use to assess any future foreign takeovers."

Hutchison Whampoa says hi, Theresa...

Well I guess the EU can't block it anymore?

Last I'd heard May hasn't invoked Article 50 and the UK is still in the EU, so yes they can.

She won't do that until the exit negotiations are complete, but yes, she has said it will still happen, so no, once we have exited, the EU can't block this kind of thing.

Yes I understand that, but there's going to be a minimum of two years, and probably much longer than that before the UK leaves the EU. With no specific end in sight, I doubt Hutchison Whampoa, or any one else interested in a takeover, will stay interested.
