"A rough week for Apple"

As we know their has been some threads about recent situations regarding the iPhone 6 #bendgate and the iOS 8.0.1 update fiasco.

This is a balanced piece on the situation in my opinion from idownloadblog Here

I have read the article BoB and the writer Sebastien Page is downplaying "Bendgate"....I am not sure his review is totally unbiased as he admits initially that 'prior to release iDB always felt the 'bending' was a non issue...

Re the iOS 8.01 update he is not so kind....in fact states...

"How about that iOS 8.0.1 botched release?.

It probably would be an understatement to say that this was the most epic fail in the history of iOS updates. Not only did Apple release an update that disabled cellular service and Touch ID on certain devices, but it also took the company an hour to pull the update. Even worse, the company hasn’t issued an official fix yet for the mess it created"

Then again he still tries to rationalise this botched up release.

So ....I don't think his article is that balanced at all, sadly...

Yes I'm aware of the videos on the net with people hands shaking as they apply such force. The one I added actually tries to explain that all.

As for breaking a phone I'm sure we all can do that to any phone in the right way.

It it is going to be interesting to see if Apple do make a statement and if Apple Stores will swap out 'bent' iPhone 6 models.

It's about perspective really. If you want to bend them you can with te right amount of pressure. If you look after them and are careful, as you would be with any £600+ device, there won't be an issue.

Yes we've all had a good laugh at Apple's expense but I personally would never dream of putting a phone in my back pocket. Common sense really...

It will all make for further publicity I expect...as for changing the bendable phones I doubt it.

It will be far too easy if folk want to change their phones ....for them to 'bend' them on purpose wink

Agreed.

I can just see some owners actually trying this out.

Some are after 'free' cases from Apple now too.

I stopped worrying about this kind of forum / media frenzy way back when the #yellowscreengate and #antennagate hit the proverbial fan.

To be fair the antennae was a big issue but I just feel this is being made out to be more than it is...
