Not applicable

On the Dec 21st you might get to see one.

I get quite excited about stuff like this, and being the first time in a long(lol) time I'm hoping for clear skies!

@TallTrees

Just listened to the weather forecast where it was explained as you said above.

Also, it being overcast today, was due to smoke not clouds.

Could see the dull red glow through the cloud to the south last night at 11pm. Just a circular patch of  orangey-red coloured cloud in the overcast sky... Was weird 🌕

Deep space radio signal reaches earth after EIGHT  billion years

(bit like our postal system!😅)

Recently, astronomers made an astonishing discovery — a mysterious and powerful burst of radio waves reached Earth after traveling through space for 8 billion years. Dubbed FRB 20220610A, it is one of the most distant and energetic radio signals ever observed.

new-star-night-sky-october.png

A new star is about to appear in the night sky that has not been seen for nearly 80 years.

Dubbed the Blaze Star, T Coronae Borealis was last seen from Earth in 1946 when it erupted from the Northern Crown constellation. It was expected to appear in September, with astronomers now saying that it could appear any day.

The celestial phenomenon is the result of a long-dead star 3,000 light-years from Earth reigniting in an explosion that will appear as bright as the North Star. Lasting only a few days, the nova will then disappear for another 80 years.

Thanks for that interesting info @TallTrees 👍

It's a pity we don't have a specific date though.

Date would be helpful @Cleoriff

Not expecting to be looking out there personally.

Arriving home the other evening  I heard owls hooting, 🦉

That's OK for me!

We don't get to hear owls hooting much @TallTrees

The area is rather built up.

I did hear them when we were at the caravan Park in Poole though.

The caravan was on a hill surrounded by trees, leading down to the estuary.
