What was happening where you were on that day in April, 2012?

I must have been annoyed about something O2, as that's the date and time of my registration here on the O2 Community Forum.

Where would I have rather been?  Lots of places - but the Museum of Modern Art in New York was hosting a Kraftwerk retrospective, if you remember them - the electronic music band started in the 70s. 3D-glasses were handed out at that event, which spanned 8 days!

Here's a little bit of history from YouTube as a reminder, with a wonderful collage of man-made androids, robots and similar imagery that is pretty good.

Quite a few there that I recognise, although I can't see Seven of Nine or Max Headroom in there... tongue_winking

That's a lovely sharing of your memories @jonsie

I too have had nice holidays in North Wales, but not been to Rhyl or Llandudno

Barmouth, Harlech, Phwelli, Aberdaron, Abersoch, MaCunthylth, (poor spelling?), Lake Bala,Tal-y-Bont, ... either in caravans or camping ... = ... fond memories ... then, the Welsh shopkeepers would speak English amongst themselves but reverted to Welsh when you walked into the shop lols ... I still have my traditional national costume Welsh doll called Mivanwe rainbow

All lovely memories and great to read. However, I will point out I have two aversions

1) Clowns

2) Dolls  LOL

I remember going to a friends villa in Spain and we stayed overnight. She put us in a bedroom filled with her doll collection. Fear

I spent the first part of the night turning all the dolls to face the wall.

That still didn't work so I took a sheet and slept on her patio on a sun lounger...

Oh how everyone laughed...except me....Happy Dance

A room full of dolls is truly scary.

Clowns are ok - the Bond film Octopussy had them.

Automatons can be creepy too, like the excellent film Hugo or, for that matter, Terminator.

Behind-the-scenes documentary clip from Hugo, the making of, here:

I don't like clowns either @Cleoriff

I have about 10 national dress dolls, from when I was a kid, they're in a box in the top cupboards in my room

I can't watch the movie Chuckie Evil

I couldn't have slept either in a room full of dolls Cleo' ... I only have photos of my son Alex & daughter-in-law Emma in my room together with Harrison Ford, Kit Harrington & cats

Any excuse Cleo, like you with JD Bouncy

No @pgn... Clowns are not OK. Fear

Particularly when you have a vivid imagination and read IT by Stephen King (who just happened to be my favourite author back in the day)

It frightened me so much, when I read it at night, I shoved the book under the bed and chucked the covers over my head. Then came the film, I watched it once and never again. I certainly wouldn't watch the remake clown

Now I didn't mind that....joy

I have specialist dislikes...... dolls and clowns....

(I don't mind raggedy dolls ...just those with china faces and eyes that seem to follow you round the room....)

I'm terrified of clowns. My dad took me to the circus when I was seven and I remember loving everything about it until a strange weird clown came on. We we were on the front row and I was so scared of him or her, no idea really, brought this snake over and wrapped it round my neck.

I remember screaming and crying and the clown took it away and came and put an arm round me to try and be friendly and I suppose maybe it felt guilty, but all it did was make me cry and cower. My dear dad, bless him, shouted at him to get away and then picked me up and took me outside away from it all.

I had nightmares for a month and wet the bed more than once. To this day clowns and snakes terrify me. I couldn't even take my own kids to the circus, their mum had to take them. They still don't know why even now....
