Good morning everyone,

White Lies will be performing this December at the O2 Academy Brixton, in London. Anyone interested can grab some tickets for the gig on Priority!

This English post-punk band was formed in Ealing, London, in 2007. Formerly known as Fear of Flying, they released their fifth and latest studio album in February this year.

Are any of you fans of White Lies? What's your favourite song, or album?

Re: White Lies

HI @EmilieT

Interesting about this band.

post punk, you say ~ I never really took to Punk or Punk Rock

except I quite liked Debbie Harry and Toyah Willcox

Do you like this post-punk band?

Re: White Lies

@TallTrees  I hadn't heard about this band until Monday, nor about Post-Punk! I'm not really good at defining music genres so I don't know if I listen to much punk, post punk, or any kind of punk ... However I listened to a few of their tracks and I quite like it, they have a good energy Happy Dance

I used to live in Ealing for two years, which is where they are from, so it drew me to them more easily as well.

Re: White Lies

@TallTrees You might be right, although I'm open to all genres joy

I listen to all sorts of music, but I think I lean more towards Indie/Folk/Rock in general I think. One of my favourite things to listen to are soundtracks as well, whether they are soundtracks of movies or video games, they can be really gorgeous.

That bieng said, I love discovering new artists and broadening my horizons!

Re: White Lies

The punk band era was pretty amusing to live through.

You had some great bands. A lot, like the Sex Pistols couldn't sing at all. However they were noisy, anarchic and made a statement.

The Jam, The Clash, The Damned, The Buzzcocks made some damn good music.

As did a couple of US Punk bands, The Ramones and The Dead Kennedys

I have two sons, I lived through it all.

I will make mention of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry here (Post punk). My nephew/ godson played bass guitar for them. What a noise clown

Re: White Lies

You are right (of course) broaden horizons.

However some Punk Bands were nearly impossible (in my view) to listen to.

I definitely like all different types of music.

Classics pop folk country  (end of list of likes very mild punk!)

But well done EmilieT to make me think smiling
