O2 Priority not compatible with my Samsung S3 mini

I've just switched to an O2 PAYG Classic SIM. The O2 website says "you can use Priority on any handset - all you need is a data connection".  So why does it say that the app is not compatible with my device?  It has already installed "My O2" without any problem.  My Android version is 4.1.2.  Any suggestions?

You need 4.3 onwards for Priority app I'm afraid.

Many thanks MI5.  Disappointing though, and misleading that O2 say the app can be used on any handset when clearly it cannot. This app was one of the "selling points" when I decided to apply for a new SIM with O2. I don't know if I can get the Android version updated or not, otherwise I will need to use it via the browser which is a bit more clunky, especially if I'm standing in a queue waiting to present my code or whatever.

Many apps have cut off points these days due to security improvements in newer firmwares unfortunately.
Complexity of apps doesn't help either I'm afraid.....

Hi @RedRobin, welcome to our community! Sorry to hear that you can't use Priority on your Samsung. 😞 Thank you @MI5 for explaining the reason above. Hopefully you'll still be able to enjoy Priority via the website.

Also thanks for your feedback regarding the text on the O2 website. Please do let us know if you have any further comments on the website or O2 Priority itself, we will pass it on. thumbsup

Hi MI5, I have just accepted this as a solution (I'm learning the O2 community ropes here!) though thanks to my phone having an operating system that can't be updated it's more of a workaround than the desired solution for me.

Yes, a workaround for sure but hopefully one you can utilise to make use of the offers.
