Check for faults here O2 Service Status
If no issues, try your sim in another phone.
If doesn't work then you may need a new sim which you can get quickly from any O2 store.
If it works in another phone, it could be your phone that is faulty.

Make sure you register for updates O2 Service Status and if there are any issues, O2 will let you know when fixed.
