Hi

Just got a new phone after a couple of years

Do I charge the phone fully before using it for the fist time?

Just wondered what is best for battery health

Thanks

@Pudster

Modern batteries are best if charge is kept between 50 and 99%.

There's a whole raft of technical jargon to support this, but needless to say I won't go into it here.

In summary, there's no need to fully charge before first use anymore.

Also, don't leave phone on charge overnight, as they don't like that either.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
