Solved: Swapping number from water damaged phone

I have had to replace my phone as it got water damaged. I am trying to transfer my number to my new phone but cannot access the security texts sent to my old phone (I cannot swipe the screen and it is no longer charging). How can I get my number onto my new phone please?

Put your old sim in the new phone to get the text then swap it for the new sim to continue the process.

Thank you MI5. Do I have to take the new SIM out of the new phone? My son tried to put them both in at once this morning, but the old one didn't fit in with it.

If the sim is too big you might find you can push the middle out to make it smaller.
