I requested to have my o2 contract moved into my name and updated my bank details. (Rather than my parents) However, I wanted to keep my existing number and contacts. I was sent a new sim which I installed. I was told I had to confirm receipt of this new SIM before the original details could be 'put back' I have received a text on my new number asking me to begin the process but I am unsure if I should proceed as I am not sure it will swap back to my original number and contacts. I tried to speak to someone at customer service but cannot get through. I just need to know that they will be putting my original details back as soon as possible.

You need to start the process as instructed.

If you need to contact O2.
All numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support 
When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.
