I just wondered if there was a way I could get a sim card for my Samsung tablet that is connected to my phone number and sim only contract I already have?

No, you will need a data sim for your tablet. If you try to connect to your phone, the phone will lose service.

You could always turn on the hotspot function on your phone - it turns your phone into a mobile wifi point that you can connect your tablet to.
There is a limit of 4Gb per month from what I remember though...
