Phone unlatching

own a sony xperia xa1 ultra that i wanted o2 to unlock as its now out of contract so my daughter could use it.
Contacted o2 for the sim unlock code so it could be used on another network.
O2 provide me with the code from my imei and it didn't work. My daughter has now locked it by constantly trying the code provided. What are my options as I believe its now locked to o2 due to too many attempts and as far as I'm concerned o2 have caused this by providing the incorrect number on more than one occasion. I say this as when it didn't work the first time I contacted o2 again to make sure the code was correct and they provided me the same unlock code again.
