Nuisance calls from automated lines

I keep getting multiple calls a day, normally from 07489 or 07419 numbers, which if I then answer, seems to ring through to another number, which then picks up, there is a short sound for a few seconds of what sounds like a call center and then the line goes dead.

It is always a different mobile number and calls probably 10 times a day, which is becoming extremely annoying.

Any ideas on how to stop them? Worried it might be a scam and is charging me.

Not much really other than blocking them. They are really becoming a nuisance.
