Hi 

My iPhone has had no O2 service in the last two days.  I have tried restart of phone, reset network settings, re-inserted SIM and inserted SIM into a different iPhone.   All to no avail.  The network status suggests no network issues in the area, so make me wonder if the SIM is at fault.

Any thoughts?

Sounds likely a SIM fault if not working in another phone. 

Call O2 to check your account and order a new SIM.
