No credit no signal abroad on PAYG?

Hello there,

I have been abroad for a year now and have used my O2 line to receive messages and calls. I have topped up not long ago and was certain that those credits should last me for a long time. My signal has been off for over a month now (noticed today as needed to receive a code via SMS). Could that be for lack of credit or because I barely used it? I cannot check on My O2 as it requests to send an SMS for confirmation...

Looking forward to your help.

Best wishes.

@letsena

If you have been abroad for a year you have exceeded the O2 Roaming limit.

This is restricted to 63 days in any 4 month period

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/pay-monthly/roaming-in-europe

https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/o2-consumer-fair-usage-policy

Also, to ensure your sim remains active you have to make a chargeable call or text in a 6 month period.

(I note you say you have been using your phone only to receive messages and calls)

You may be better off buying a local sim until you return to the UK.

@letsena

You'll need to contact O2 to reconnect your SIM and recover your number.

You can use Skype or any other phone to call customer service.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
