Hi there, I'm currently travelling in Kenya and won't return to the UK for at least another year. Sadly my phone was stolen last night and my UK sim was inside it. Really stupid mistake.

The problem I have is that everything from google to WhatsApp to my bank require text messaging me on my UK number before I can activate them. I can't get a new sim as I'm not in the UK, and it's not worth changing everything every time I change country so I really need to get access to that number.

At the moment this is quite a pressing issue. Has anyone got any suggestions?

@Traveller The first thing you need to do is report the phone as stolen. They will hopefully be able to help you deal with your other issues:

Lost or Stolen O2 Device

You can contact O2 via social media as well:

Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

@Traveller

O2 will send a replacement sim to your UK address.

If you have someone back in the UK, they can then forward it on to you.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
