Hello everyone, cut a long story short for the last week my mobile signal and internet data has been dropping in and out and the last few days has pretty much just been off with the odd blip of signal. And now even the wifi is disconnecting. Something is happening but I don't know what. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There are some tips here for the mobile side, @Bucky - your WiFi needs a different approach depending on your provider's hub/modem - have you installed any new equipment lately, like a microwave or DECT phone set or wireless doorbell?

Guide: How can I sort out my network issues?

No nothing new or anything like that, it's like I can watch the signal just disappear and then wifi will disappear at the same time. And for some reason where on the mobile data it says 4G or 4G+ or o2uk mobile, it's now saying "EDGE" as the data which I've never seen before.

The different descriptions here will help explain EDGE, etc, @Bucky: Guide: What is 2G, 3G, and 4G?

And here: https://www.ufinet.com/whats-the-difference-between-internet-speeds/

If you follow the tips in the previous Network guide, you'll get a better idea of what might be the issue - also Google for user forums for your phone make and model, see if anyone else with that phone has experienced similar issues.

Good luck!

Added in a more current doc above, re EDGE, @Bucky. Seems the forum 2G to 4G Guide could do with an update too 😳😆

Sounds like your phone has a faulty antenna @Bucky

Best to contact your phones manufacturer to get it checked out.
