Hi there, I just received a new Alcatel 1 and need to put the battery in, any good ideas how to get the back off?

yes I have read the user guide and watched a Youtube video, so far I have broken a nail and tried a nail file but the back won't budge, I'm afraid of breaking it by forcing with a screwdriver

any ideas please?

It is just a snap fit but may e tight as it's new.

Go carefully with a plastic tool such as a credit card etc and work your way around the edge to release all the clips.

thanks, the only place wide enough to accommodate a credit card is the corner slot and the card just bends, the edge of the phone casing is getting chewed up

I read on another site you can use a hairdryer to soften the case up, is that a good idea or will it fry my phone?

Such extremes should not be necessary.

I've spent two hours trying to get the back off with no success

Absolutely ridiculous I feel like smashing it to pieces

It is insane that they make it so difficult and I think they do it on purpose to show how very clever they are and how dumb we are

I'm going to need a handsaw to get this off

I just hope I don't end up with a slashed hand or wrist

You need a pry tool placed in the corner slot then twisted 90 degrees

If you haven't got a tool a knitting needle filed to fit should do

If you feel adventurous then a small flat head screwdriver will work

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I should add that I have slight arthritis

Whether that's a factor in not being able to get it off I don't know but I've never had a problem with them before

Absolute nightmare
