I have received a text from 02 telling me "We're just confirming that we've sent your details to your bank to set up a Direct Debit, it will show as 02 on your bank account. We've also sent you an email with more information".

Can you advise me please if this is a scam as I haven't asked 02 to set up a direct debit?

It could be that you are been migrated to the new billing platform, or if you a Virgin Mobile customer your port is going through from Virgin to o2..

 

Best thing to do is contact customer services;  if you send them a message on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), or you can call 202 from your o2 phone
