my sim has suddenly decided not to work in my phone got the phone last year. have tried turning it off and on again tried my sim in other phone and it works but not in MY phone. has anyone any idea why this would happen suddenly

If the sim works in another phone it isn't faulty and the issue is with your phone.

Contact Apple for a diagnostic check.

@LindaHunter Hi, also check that the SIM is slotting correctly and that there is nothing blocking the contacts - even dust or dirt.
