why is my data being used when i have it switched off.

Are you saying you have mobile data turned off all the time and only ever use wifi?

If so, then it shouldn't be happening.

 

However If you go to your settings and look at data usage, you can select the apps that are using the most data and disable background data. Then they will only use it when you're actually within the app itself.

 

What sort of phone have you got?

It can’t be if it is turned off unless your phone is faulty?

I find switching data off and flight mode on ensures no data is used, if that helps @richie41

@richie41Do you mean "sleep"? Phones swill continue to use small data then as they regularly "check in", eg for new emails.
