Hi I tried customer services but the stupid automated machine keeps giving me an un-blocking code whatever that is??! It is not what I asked for, seems the machine cannot understand English.

I know I can have roaming and make calls when in Europe myself and that I cannot call Europe numbers from the UK without the International bolt on. What I want to know is how a UK number of a friend about to go to Europe is treated. Can I call them as it is a UK number or not when they are in Europe?

Why can't I ever speak to a person at O2 anymore. I hate these machines!!!

@Jodie19 You would be calling a UK number, so it shouldn't be a problem even if they're roaming as you are.
