So I checked my phone bill that will be coming up soon, and I noticed that I have to pay extra, £28 extra ! I checked the reason why and it has the £28 next to the tariff column. I’m quite confused as this has never happened before, and I don’t understand why I need to pay extra. I also googled the meaning of tariff but it doesn’t seem to explain it very well. Could someone please let me know the reason behind me needing to pay extra as this is quite frustrating.

Hi @Kofibee

Only customer services will know why you are paying extra to the tariff (agreed price)

You should give them a call tomorrow and ask for an explanation https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

It may be that you have exceeded your allowances, or have you bought any goods on charge to mobile?

Another reason, if this is a new bill, then you may have an outstanding amount from your last contract?

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing/first-bill

All of the above is guesswork really. You should call customer services in the morning.

Best of luck and welcome to the forum

@Kofibee Have you gone over your normal allowances? You can check what you've used on your MyO2 page.

@Kofibee O2 refresh splits your payments in to two.

You make one payment for your device and another for the airtime tariff https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-does-O2-Refresh-work/ba-p/1014093

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Tariff is simply the amount of airtime you pay and what allowances you get, such as unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and the amount of data such as 4GB or 8GB as an example.

Check if you have received any text messages from a short code number. You may have accidently subscribed to a scam service.
