Good afternoon,
I have recently updated my surname upon getting married and whilst it has updated all the details on the O2 website on the MyO2 app under the profile tab it still lists my previous surname.
How can I get this changed as they didn't know via live chat?

You'll need to delete the app, reboot phone, then reinstall app.

I'm sure it will update itself in time @nlbpeacock although I can't see where it pulls the info from as it isn't linked to the billing details.
I suspect it may have been a manual entry when the account was first setup.
