I'm about to go to Cape Verde how do I ensure my phone will be able to connect to email....fb.....internet and to make phone calls to UK thanks

Also a good idea to make full use of Wifi whenever you are able. It cuts down on roaming costs.

Turn Voicemail off as you will be charged.

Unless you want to come back to a huge bill, use wifi only, turn off data and data roaming and make calls over Whatsapp or Facebook messenger etc whilst on WiFi.

Data is £7.20 per mb so your average email will cost you £360 to download.
