I would like to set up a direct debit to pay my airtime bill

This looks like something you’d need to call O2’s customer service team about, specifically the Payment Management team.

Give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202, or 0800 902 0217

If you have no access to a phone then use Skype to call 0800 032 1402
