I received a screen message on my samsung phone regarding changing the messages app. It has disappeared now but what do I have to do?

Just open your RCS settings and accept the Google T&C's to continue using RCS functions.

If you don't use RCS, just ignore it.

Thanks - a new messaging system to replace the SMS system then - I guess that my Samsung 'phone will at some stage no longer be supporting SMS, hence the message. Cheers!

It runs alongside sms but allows you to add iMessage type content without the associated mms charges.

@ChrisNeale SMS will continue for some time. The likes of Apple have only just said they will support RCS in the future. At the moment the only way to text an iPhone user is by SMS

Companies and organisations like the health service will use SMS too.

What should die eventually is MMS picture messaging as it will not be needed. 

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
