Hi there, my bill was generated today with the cost of the Disney + plan.  I don't watch Disney + so called 02 for them to cancel and see if they can adjust my bill.  The advisor said he would do so.  He then said because they have overcharged they would send me a gift - the Samsung A9 tab.  I was reluctant as I already have an iPad and a Pixel phone.  I don't need another gadget.  But he insisted.  I was on a 2 year plan - expires 2027 costing £16.99.

Emails and text messages came in after the call.

My contract has been changed - I've got a new contract at £26.99 with an increase of data because I'm also a virgin media customer.

A new contract for an iPhone which has been credited (so zero balance) - £1002 and, a Samsung A9 tablet in the post - coming tomorrow!!!

Is this a scam?

I've not asked for any of this!!!

What should I do?

I'll be calling 02 first thing tomorrow!

I get a lot of scam calls from 020 numbers.

They've most likely moved on by now.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

True, but the Op said he called them...

It has been a problem for the past 20 years or so, with people advertising fake numbers for Customer Services...

@Dave-O2 might be a good one for your security teams to investigate and get shut down..

This is not customer services and we dont have access to your account
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

I just meant that 020 numbers are commonly used by scammers. I've seen fake numbers show in Google searches many times.

Also aware the OP called them as per my previous comments.
