Hi,
I already had a sim only contract and yesterday I upgraded this to include a new phone, which arrived today. This was for my husband.
the husband has said he doesn’t need it as he gets free company phones. The new phone package has not been opened.
can I cancel this new upgrade and return the phone and return back to my original sim only contract I had ??

You can return it under the change of mind policy
https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/our-change-of-mind-policy
You will only be able to go back on the sim only contract if it's still available.
