Hi all. Upgraded to an iPhone for my teenager. Inserted new sim, went through phone set up but an hour on, device is still showing 'no service'. As such we cannot get the verification code so a bit stuck. What can I do to rectify this? Any help would be much appreciated (teenager is on the verge of a meltdown & I'm no use as I only use Samsung).

You need to use his old sim

or if the phone is a 5G model (not sure it is)

Do a sim swap from the old sim

Thank you for the tip, that would've been ideal. I've just found the old sim but it's too big and one of the older styles you can't pop out.

If you have a working phone that the old sim fits in then start the sim swap using that old phone
