My friend has the Galaxy S8 and her My O2 app is very different to mine. The app icon as well as the interface! Is there an update? Google Play on my Galaxy S10 is saying I'm on the latest version but my app hasn't changed since the day I got the phone back in April! Confuzzled much.

Hey all,

Sorry for any confusion but there's nothing to worry about. It's all related to this thread I shared a few months back. We paused that update while we ironed out a few kinks, but it has been re-started now and we hope to see it reach full saturation for Android users by around the end of July.

So to be clear, it's a staggered roll-out with the numbers/deployment run by Google (so we have no real control over who gets it, when), so over the next few weeks some of you may have this new version while some of you are on the older one - but by the end of the month once we've hit full saturation, you should all be on the latest version.

PS. The iOS update is also coming, though the deployment date for that is TBC - we'll keep you posted.

Mine says 9.3.1 last updated 27 November 2018. My friends says 10.8.29 last updated 3 July 2019... How strange that the S8 gets the updated app before the S10!

I'm guessing an update is imminent then but yes, strange that the S10 hasn't been updated before the S8. None of my phones have had the 10.8.29 as yet but I haven't got the latest Samsungs.

I wonder if it's to do with the software version of the handset? This is the very first time I've not had my handset through the Carphone Warehouse. This one came directly from O2 because at the time, it was a better deal but as this has O2 firmware, it doesn't get the updates as quick as the stock Samsung firmware handsets. I find it quite irritating and I'm not sure I would get my device directly from a mobile network again.

It shouldn't really matter if it's available in Play I wouldn't have thought?

Hi @Oxygen87  and @jonsie

My version (on my Note 😎 is 10.4.61.

So another completely different one. wink

I will just go into Playstore and see if it has an update... back in a moment...

Now I'm back and it has updated (update available 3rd July) to fix some bugs apparently.

Now on version 10.8.29

@Oxygen87

Have you tried deleting your app and reloading it?

Sometimes that will encourage an update to come through.

With mine I just went into Playstore and it said 'update' existing app. That's precisely what I did..
