Importing old WhatsApp chats to my new phone

Have just got a new Galaxy A21 and although everything has been imported from my Galaxy S9 it hasn't transferred the old Whats App chats - just a few Group chats. Can anyone suggest what I should do?

It sounds like your whatsapp account is only set to backup group chats, unfortunately now you have switched handsets the old whatsapp install gets deactivated, so anything not backed up wont be migrated.

You can always try contacting whatsapp support from within the app.

If you haven't wiped the old phone, put your SIM back in it and backup all your WhatsApp chats.

Then go back to new phone and reinstall WhatsApp and your backup.
