I want to end my contract and get a new phone but I don't know which option is best.

Hi, I didn't really have time to ring about this today so I thought I'd post it on here. It might seem like an obvious answer but it's not clear on 'My O2'. I started a 24 month contract with O2 and I've now gone beyond the 24 months, I want to get a new phone now with a different network and I want to keep my current number as well. I get my next bill next week.

Do I just send a text to get my number released and that'll end the contract? Or do I have to cancel the contract as normal? On the FAQ thing, it says that I don't have to give thirty days notice if switching to another network - it says it here: https://www.o2.co.uk/business/support/accounts/switch#Getintouch.

There's no visible way to do any of this on the 'My O2' thing. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Just get your PAC Guide: How to get your PAC [June 2021 Update]

When your new network processes your PAC, it will automatically end your O2 contract and your final bill will be generated by O2 and sent to you for payment in 14 days time.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
