Hi
I have requested a PAC code to keep my current O2 mobile number, which I received and completed the request form on My O2, but received no confirmation if it has gone through. I haven't as yet inserted my new O2 sim-card, as I don't want to lose my information. What can I do?

From your post it sounds like you are moving O2 to O2 in which case you do not need a PAC
You need to ask O2 to MIGRATE your number
