@Ilze

If you UPGRADE, you keep the same number. You can even use the same sim if it fits.

Hi

How did you process the upgrade? ie via the MyO2 app/ online or some other method? Does the confirmation of the upgrade state a different number to the number you beleive you were upgrading?

If this is the case it seems that you have accidently setup an additional connection and not an upgrade, If this is the case I would recommend processing a 14 day return to cancel the additional connection via: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/our-returns-policy

Once this has been processed you will be able to complete an upgrade via the MyO2 app full instructions can be found via: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/pay-monthly/upgrading-your-pay-monthly-mobile

If the confirmation email documents contain the mobile number you currently have then you have indeed processed an upgrade and your number will stay connected throughout the new contracted term and all you need to do is put your sim card into the new device once you recieve the item and enjoy!
