I can see others are having the same problem as me logging into the 02 app so it appears to be your systems at fault.

You are correct. O2 produced an update for My O2 which caused problems.
See if you are able to login to MyO2 using any browser at https://accounts.o2.co.uk/signin
If browser login works, uninstall the app from your phone, reboot and reinstall, to see if that helps. Although I doubt it will until the update is corrected.
