Even if you are sim only there would be a minimum period @Kevin18 so if you are leaving before that you could be liable for the remaining amount.
For example - you sign up to a 12 month deal for £10 per month.
In month 9 you give notice to leave, you still have to pay for months 10, 11 and 12.
