I have my personal mobile.

I purchased a phone from O2 for an employee who has left the company.

I want to know if I can use his monthly allowance but keep my number and cancel my own personal account

@KW2

Just call O2 to migrate your number to the account you want to use.

This will end your current contract and transfer your number to the other one.

All numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I have tried to do this for my father in law who had a monthly sim only and got a new contract from a third party for his partner but they split. They have told me they can't do it on the same account. He really wants to keep his original number but obviously doesn't want to pay his old sim only too. I find this really unkind of 02 as he has been a customer for many years. I am also with o2 and have a contract for both me and my son but after 15 years with them I think I will leave instead of renewing at the end of them

I will try again but the guy definitely told me I can not cancel the sim only and change the number onto new contract. He said because they are on the same account this can not be done. I called 202 and the guy even checked with his manager apparently. Thank though

That's rubbish @Sarah87

If there is anything outstanding to pay, you will have to do that first but it's perfectly acceptable to migrate your number Guide: Migration & porting into O2
