@Megan39

In the billing section of your MyO2 or by calling O2.

You can reach the Payment Management team on 0800 902 0217.
The opening times are:
Monday to Friday – 8am to 8pm
Saturday – 8am to 6pm
Sunday – 9am to 6pm

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

turns out it's under my O2 payment methods. Not that it matters because if it's near payment date it stupidly refuses to let you. It could take the details and say this will apply on you next months payment etc. But it doesn't. Rubbish system

Changes to O2 payments by DD or by stored credit card need to be made no later than at least 3 days before your scheduled payment date, @Number1barber - pretty standard for most companies (electricity, broadband, gas, etc), in some cases 7 days are required..

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account/billing-and-usage/how-to-pay

If your payment is leaving your Direct Debit account within the next 3 days of your payment due date, we are unable to change the direct debit payment date in time for this bill. However, your change to payment date will be applied to all future bills.

You can change your direct debit date using the pre-defined date ranges of 1-7, 8-14, 15-21, 22-28 of the month. It is always best to select the date range from when funds are in your account from day one of the date range, as payment could be taken anytime in between the date range.

You are limited to making 1 change to your direct debit payment date every 3 months.

You can change your Direct Debit Account but not your payment date if a payment is outstanding.

If a payment is outstanding and you change your Direct Debit account details, the payment date will remain the same as your previous Direct Debit. You will be able to change the date after this.

If a payment is not outstanding, you can change both Direct Debit Account details and payment date.

nice of you to quote them except its a lie. Changes won't apply to the next bill because you cannot add a change. They could easily take the details and apply it in three days instead of just refusing the change. The only thing worse is allowing me to type a long reply here and when I click post reply it asks to me to sign in and when I do my reply is gone and I have to retype it. Why not remember my reply and keep it in the box after I login.

"There's an overdue balance on your account. You'll need to clear this balance before you can change your payment date." So no you can't change it or ask for it to be changed

But hey if I call them the magically can do it only took 10 minutes to jump through security hoops to then did the change in one minute. Got to love foreign call centers. Nothing better than repeating yourself 20 times.

Well there you are. You have successfully negotiated the intricacies of the payment system, customer services and the Community.

Now all you have to do is organise your banking so you don't have to change a payment date just before it's due.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

It's ridiculous that in 2025 you have to jump through hoops for what should be a simple process online

That's progress for you....
