I need someone to review this, I was told by a complaint manager and a manager within o2 that when my bill generated on 7th January I would not have to make any manual payments and the payment would be taken on 21st of the month as a direct debit. However when I log on to my o2 account I am shown with an overdue payment against the device plan and I am prompted to make a manual payment.

When did you setup the Direct Debit? as you need to give it a clear 10 working days to be setup, so this would need to be setup by the 17th December at the latest with all the Holidays.
If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to have a look into when the DD was setup and when it was due to take effect.
