Apple has said that all iPhones, iPads and Mac computers are affected by two major flaws in computer chips.
Tech companies have been racing to fix the Meltdown and Spectre bugs, that could allow hackers to steal data.
Apple said it had already released some patches but there was no evidence that the vulnerability had been exploited.

I have no Apple devices but found this statement quite worrying....
The Meltdown and Spectre flaws are found in many modern computer processing units - or microchips - made by Intel and ARM, and together the firms supply almost the entire global computer market.

Yes I heard the late evening news @jonsie and it is still Apple they keep mentioning. As @Bambino said it's poor reporting really when you read the history of Meltdown and Spectre and the damage they can do to many other devices. (including PC's with that chip and other phones).
In fact it's INTEL (the maker of the processors) who are facing class action lawsuits

Maybe the BBC thinks that if they don't headline it with Apple that no one will read the article? The fact is, this has nothing to do with Apple per se.Yes it affects Apple products, but it's the chips that are in every device that are the problem, and those chips are made by Intel and AMD. This article only mentions Apple once. It also includes everyone else:
