text message from 88222

Hi,

I am receiving text messages from 88222 which are costing me £1.25 each time they come through, normally in threes ! does anyone know how to stop these?

You could try sending STOP to 88222 that normally works is it something you signed up for somewhere

Hi

 

No it is nothing I have signed up for, the phone goes three times at virtually the same time. I am awaitng the next time it goes off and see exactly what it says.

Just googled it for you looks like its some sort of lottery scam and the way to stop it is to send STOP to the number I would also ring o2 and ask them for a refund

O2 will not refund the only way to get a refund is to follow the advice in Jonsie's post

I had the same problem with 88222 and through a bit of detective work found the companys free phone number, you simply tell them your mobile number and they tell you the number thats been txting you and cancel it for you. The number to phone (free) is 0149 4750500.

These texts need to be reported to Phone Pay Plus as they can get you a refund and prosecute them.

 

Ringing them is like calling a burglar to tell him which day you're out! wink
