amazon fire rip off

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi guys,

Just wondering about people's opinions about what's happened with the amazon fire phone. Basically today amazon have dropped the price on pay to just £99 still only on O2.

It means there's people like me that bought it in December had it a month and now have a piece of kit that's £13 a month for 2 years that has essentially more than halved in value. I'm going to take it further with amazon and O2 but I feel for something like this so drastic to happen they should do something for those that have signed up in good faith for a contract on a phone only released in September 14!!!!

This has really disappointed me and made me question both o2 and amazon.

It was a special offer that expired yesterday at midnight, as one of their "deal of the day" promotions. Further information on those offers can be found in their T&Cs:

There were a few reports that this phone wasn't selling particularly well and that Amazon and suppliers would be dropping the price.

Although it must be very frustrating there is little you can do I'm afraid. You signed up to the contract in good faith but no-one knows what will happen with the promotion of any new phone...Some sell well and others see sales and need decline.

Are you happy with the phone?

If not and you want to get out of the contract you will be liable for the remainder of the contract......

It's unfortunate that you find yourself out of the two week cooling off period.

If you are thinking of contacting O2 please use this link

Unfortunately this happens in lots of scenarios not just in the mobile phone world.

I'm sure many have bought something for it to drop in cost not too long after.

Deals can be applied at any time.

Take into account that the phone is worth several hundred pounds.

By all means make the contact you have intimated but I fear you may not get any resolution if your intention is some form of returned funds etc.

It may appear at first that this has been reduced to £99 on the front page
http://www.amazon.co.uk
But when you click on it an select on the phone and go to the option to buy and select phone only http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IFQ56PU/ref=s9_simh_gw_p493_d2_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&p...
It shows a discount of £100 from £399 to £299 with 2-4 week delivery, and on the O2 site it shows in stock?
