Updating my S8 Plus

Is it worth updating to Android Pie 9.0 on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus?

I'm just sceptical if there's any problems ie mentioned Battery Problems on a news article after upgrading.

I'm happy with the current version Oreo on my phone.

I'm an advocate of always being on the latest firmware regardless of any potential issues you may read about. They will never be seen by most users anyway and battery life always takes a hit for a few days after a major update due to the phone having to re-index all the files. After that it usually settles down to normal. 
Battery life on my OP running 9.0 is excellent btw.....

The battery life is amazing on my J7 Plus since I updated to Ore so I'm happy to keep it at that. I'm not even sure I will get Pie and even less sure I would install it. The 'improvement' would probably be negligible to the actual user experience.

There's usually lots broken but your average user wouldn't notice.

Another thing that people disregard are features that were manually disabled, get turned back on during an update. Even though everything looks the same it may be an idea backup everything to the cloud or whereever. Reset your phone and check for the update again. Download it and then disable what you don't need. Restore your backup contacts, files etc. 

If you have the time I may keep things smooth. Older apps might not be optimised for new builds of Android and whilst the resources shared are few and far between, a purged cache and clean file system is a more guaranteed way of a smooth running handset.

To be honest, I only do it for major updates like 8 to 9 not point releases or secuirty updates.
